Description
Updated with new components and cabinet structure, the enclosure contains a 12” (305mm) neodymium LF drive unit, linked via the internal passive crossover network to a 3” (76mm) diaphragm, 1.4” (36mm) exit HF compression drive unit. The HF drive unit is coupled to a constant-directivity waveguide which produces a 60° x 40° dispersion pattern, rotatable for maximum flexibility, and along with the multi-angle enclosure this allows stage monitor use if required.
The robust enclosure is constructed from premium multi-laminate Birch plywood and is finished in an impact and weather resistant black or white textured polyurethane as standard, however RAL colour matching and enhanced weather-protected outdoor options are available. Two NL4 connections are provided on the rear for input and enclosure link. The front of the loudspeaker is protected by a rigid stainless steel grille backed with acoustically transparent fabric. A flush bar handle, 35mm polemount socket and various threaded fixings are provided in the enclosure for optional rigging hardware.
The EMS-126 requires a single amplifier channel, and the use of external DSP is recommended for system protection with high pass filters and limiters – as such it is recommended to be used with EM Acoustics’ range of Advanced System Amplifiers. It is however possible to use other DSP-enabled amplifiers, or conventional amplifiers with external DSP. Suitable DSP settings are provided on the EM Acoustics website. The EMS-126 requires a single amplifier channel capable of delivering 750-1000W RMS into an 8-ohm load.
